We run our own first-party analytics — there is no Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking on this site. The only data we collect is:

When you visit the site, that session ID is sent to our own server along with:
- Pages visited and sections scrolled to
- Whether you clicked a call-to-action button or started filling in the contact form
- How long you spent on the page
- Your approximate location (country and city), derived from your IP address — see below
- Device type (desktop or mobile), inferred from your browser's User-Agent string
- The referring URL (the page or search engine that sent you here), if your browser sends one
This data is stored on our own server and is used solely to understand how people use the site so we can improve it. It is never sold, shared with advertisers, or used for targeted advertising of any kind.
IP address and geolocation
Your IP address is temporarily used to determine your approximate location (country and city) by passing it to ip-api.com, a third-party geolocation service based in the UK. Your raw IP address is not stored by us after the lookup. ip-api.com's privacy policy is available at ip-api.com/docs/legal.
Do we use advertising cookies?
No. We do not run any advertising campaigns, use ad networks, or place any third-party tracking cookies on this site.
Your rights and how to opt out
Under UK GDPR and PECR, you have the right to object to analytics tracking. You can:
- Clear localStorage — in your browser settings, clearing site data for ashcroftdigital.online will remove the
_ad_sididentifier. - Use browser controls — most browsers let you block or restrict localStorage and cookies. See your browser's help documentation:
Clearing or blocking localStorage will not affect your ability to use this site — no functionality depends on it.
Legal basis
Our analytics use is based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) in understanding how the site is used in order to improve it. The data collected is minimal, is not used for profiling or advertising, and does not involve any third-party tracking services. We consider this use proportionate and unlikely to override your interests or fundamental rights.
How long do we keep the data?
Analytics event data is retained on our server for up to 12 months, after which it is deleted.

We may update this policy if we change how we track or what we collect. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
